Kerala's big leap in Homoeopathy For Cancer Care
Wandoor Homoeopathic Cancer and Palliative Centre to reinforce Kerala’s leadership in integrative public health
In a landmark moment for integrative healthcare, Honourable Member of Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi to inaugurate the newly constructed block of the Government Homoeopathic Cancer and Palliative Centre at Wandoor, Malappuram, Kerala on 29th October. The event marks a significant expansion of Kerala’s pioneering efforts in Homoeopathic public health, especially in the realm of cancer care and palliative support.
Kerala has long been recognized for its robust Homoeopathic infrastructure, with over 700 dispensaries, 34 hospitals, and a range of specialty clinics under the AYUSH umbrella. Initiatives like RAECH, Punarjani, Seethalayam, and Sadgamaya have demonstrated the state’s commitment to accessible, patient-centered care through Homoeopathy. The Wandoor centre, dedicated to cancer and palliative services, stands as a testament to this vision—offering holistic support to patients and families navigating chronic and terminal illnesses.
The new block is expected to enhance service delivery, increase bed capacity, and integrate advanced repertorial and clinical protocols for cancer palliation. It also aligns with Kerala’s broader strategy of mainstreaming AYUSH systems within the National Health Mission, ensuring that Homoeopathy continues to serve as a culturally resonant and evidence-informed choice for millions.
This development is especially significant for Malappuram district, where community-driven health models and AYUSH outreach have seen remarkable success. The Wandoor centre’s expansion is poised to become a model for other states seeking to integrate Homoeopathy into mainstream cancer and palliative care.
