The 57th West Bengal State Practitioners’ Conference-2014 & 261st Birthday Celebration of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann organised by the West Bengal State Branch of The Homoeopathic Medical Association of India (HMAI) held successfully on 10th & 11th April, 2015 at Larica Holiday Inn, New Digha, Purba Midnapore. More than 500 delegates and participants from all over West Bengal attended the functions. On 10th April, 2015 Tribute to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann was offered by Dr. M. L. Bera, the chairman; Dr. H. D. Jaiswal, the General Secretary; Dr. S. I. Husain, the Secretary General, HMAI; Dr. Ashoke Kr. Pradhan, Ex-Vice President, HMAI; Dr. Gangadhar Mukherjje, Ex Organising Secretary General, HMAI; Dr. Susanta Saha, Vice-President, HMAI; Dr. Asok Kr. Das, Chairman, Scientific Standing Committee, W.B.State Branch; Dr. Biplab Kr. Kundu, Member, C.C.H and Smt. Rita Dhar, Social activist.

On 11th April, 2015 –The day’s function started with the condolence of the sudden sad demise of Dr. Tirth Raj Sarma, the member of the HMAI, W. B. State Branch. All the participants stood and observed one minute silence topay homage to Dr. T. R. Sarma, May his soul rest in piece!

The open session of the 57th West Bengal State Homoeopathic Practitioners’ Conference, 2014 Sri Arup Roy, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Agriculture Marketing Department, Govt. of West Bengal inaugurated the Session by garlanding the portraits of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann & Dr. J. N. Kanjilal, the founder of the HMAI and lighting the lamp. DR. h. d. Jaiswal, the General Secretary read out the resolutions adopted in the session and handed over the copies to Sri Arup Roy for necessary action. Dr. Ashis Dutta, Asst. Secretary to c.c.h, Dr. S. I. Husain, the Secretary Genral, Dr. Susanta Saha, the Vice-President, Dr. Ashoke Kr. Banerjee, the Organising Secretary General & Dr. B. C. Mullick, the Treasurer, Dr. Shyamal Kr. Mukherjee, immediate past Secretary General of HMAI, Dr. Rajat Chattopadhyay, Member, C.C.H & Dr. Biplab Kr. Kundu, Member, C.C.H spokes on various problems of Homoeopathic Education, Colleges, appointments of the Homoeopaths in the Health Centre etc. The session presided by Dr. M. L. Bera.

During the Tribute to Dr. Samuel Hahnemann session Dr. Deblina Das, Topper in Final B.H.M.S-2014 from West Bengal University of Health & Sciences, Dr. Saptarshi Banerjea, Ist in M.D. Entrance Examination from West Bengal University of Health & Sciences & Dr. Dishari Sengupta, Ist in UPSC Examination-2014 for MO/RO in AYUSH, Govt. of India were felicitated for their outstanding performance in the examinations. Dr. (Sk.) Rabiul Islam, Dr. Khokan Bhattacharjee & Dr. Rampada Patra were rewarded for their excellent performances in holding the Conference.

During the Open session Feliciations were given to Dr. Satyaranjan Paul, Dr. Bijaypati Mondal, Dr. Amal Kanti Ganguly and Dr. Manish Ch. Sarkar for their dedication to Homoeopathy and the Organisation.The four C.C.H Members Dr. Shyamal Kr. Mukherjee, Dr. Rakesh Singh, Dr. Rajat Chattopadhyay & Dr. Biplab Kr. Kundu were felicitated for their overwhelming victory in the C.C.H Election-2014 from West Bengal.

Six valuable scientific sessions were held during 2day’s functions with the subjects Syphilinum, Common Dental Diseases & its Homoeopathic Management, Is Cancer curable in Homoeopathy? (Panel discussion), The second prescription, Hindrances in the Treatment of Chronic diseases and need of development in Homoeopathic Pharmacy. Dr. Bishnupada Ganguly, Dr. Asok Kr. Das, Dr. L. Bera, Dr. Gangadhar Mukherjee and Dr. Durga Sankar Bhar Chaired the Scientific Sessions. Dr. Biplab Kr. Kundu, Dr. B. C. Mullick, Dr. Milan Kanti Paul, Dr. Samar Chatterjee, Dr. Prokash Mullick, Dr. Latifuddin Ahmed, Dr. Ashoke Kr. Pradhan, Dr. Subhomoy Ghosh, Dr. Kaushik Chatterjee, Dr. Kakali Kundu, Dr. Rajat Chattopadhyay, Dr. Susanta Saha, Dr. Saroj Kayal, Dr. Abdul Hakim, Dr. Santanu Ash, Dr. Siddeswar Mondal, Dr. Asim Majumder, Dr. Debi Prasad Paul, Dr. Amal Bhattachrjee and Dr. Soumita Basu were the speakers of the scientific sessions. Dr. Souraj Das, Secretary of Scientific Standing Committee, West Bengal State Branch, HMAI conducted the whole scientific sessions.

The 2 day’s progrramme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Partha Pratima Chattopadhya, Vice-President, W. B. State Branch, HMAI.
